How we prepare what we publish

Last updated:

Whitley Wildlife exists to give you clear, trustworthy information about nature, outdoor wellbeing and emotional support as you navigate gambling recovery. Everything we publish follows the same careful process, so you know what you're reading has been checked and thought through.

Topics we choose

We start with the questions people ask us. When readers want to know how nature can help them, or how to talk to someone close about gambling, or what grounding feels like outdoors – those questions become our guides. We listen to what matters to you, and we write about it.

How we research

We draw on public reference works, official sites and recognised organisations in nature, wellbeing and recovery. When a guide needs a fact – how a technique works, what research shows – we check it against more than one source. Every article ends with further reading, so you can explore deeper if you want to.

How we write

We use plain language and explain any term that might puzzle you. We don't exaggerate or promise that nature will fix everything; we describe what it can do, how it feels and why people find it steadying. Guides are written to help you think clearly, not to sell you anything.

Independence

No one pays us to rank topics a certain way or promote anything. The editorial team decides what we publish, based on what you need to know. There's no sponsored content, no hidden interests, nothing sold to you on these pages.

Updates and corrections

We review guides when something changes in the world around them. If you spot an error – a broken link, a fact that's shifted, something we've missed – write to [email protected]. We correct mistakes without delay.

Suggesting a topic

If there's something about nature, wellbeing or recovery you'd like us to cover, we'd like to hear it. Send your idea to [email protected]. We read every suggestion, and they help shape what we write next.

Content about gambling is written with safer gambling in mind. If you're struggling, support is there. You're 18+, and help is free and confidential.
